编者按：PERSONALSTAEMENTWithintenseinterestinnetworkcommunication,Iamwritingtoapplyforacceptanceintoyourgraduatepr...PERSONALSTAEMENTWithintenseinterestinnetworkcommunication,Iamwritingtoapplyforacceptanceintoyourgraduateprogramforadvancedtraining.Ifirstdevelopedthisinterestin1995,whenIwasstillanundergraduatemajoringinautomaticcontrol.ItriedtowritesomedatabaseprogramstobeappliedonaLANThatprovedtobeatoughjob,butIsuccessfullyfinishedit,winningsubstantialmonetarybenefitformyself.Butmoreimportantly,IdiscoveredwheremytrueacademicinterestlayandmadeupmymindastowhatkindofcareerIwouldpursue.Thechoiceofnetworkcommunicationforacareerwasnoaccidentforme.TheNationalUniversityofDefenseTechnology,whereIdidmyundergraduatestudies,offeredmanycoursesthathelpedtopreparemefornetworkcommunicationwork,suchasmathematics,computerhardwareandcomputersoftware.Tofurthergroundmyselfinthefieldofnetworkcommunication,Itookahostofcourseswiththeuniversity''sDepartmentofComputerScience,likenetworkingtechnologiesandTCP/IPtransport.IalsotaughtmyselfsometypicalNOS,suchasNetware.Upongraduationin1996,IhavebeenworkingwithBC(BeijingCenter).Mydutieshaverangedfrommonitoringchannelerrorratetoutilizingandmaintainingmodem,includingLANmanagement&maintenanceandotherthingsrelevanttodatacommunication.Withtheheavyworkingload,Ihaveaccumulatedrichexperienceanddevelopedastrongcapacityforindependentresearch.In1997,IattendedCNEtrainingprograms(NovellCertifiedNetworkEngineer).Thistrainingfurtheredmyunderstandingofnetworkcommunicationandmademyknowledgeinthisareamoresystematic.ItalsohelpedtoclearupmyconfusionsaboutoptimizingLANperformance.IhavethereforeequippedmyselfwithbothadequatetheoreticalknowledgeandrichworkingexperiencesinDataCommunication.IbelieveIamabletocompletethegraduatestudysuccessfully.Graduatestudiesinnetworkcommunicationwillnotonlysatisfymyintellectualcuriositybutalsoenablemetomakesignificantcontributionstothiscountry''sNationalInformationNetworks,equivalenttoAmerica''sconceptofinformationsuperhighway.AsmuchexpertiseasIhavenow,IfeelthatIcannotyetplayanyleadingroleinstate-of-the-artresearch.Ineedtoupgrademyselffurthersoastokeeppacewiththenewtechnologiesthatkeepadvancing.Iamhappytohavelearnedthatyourdepartmentofferssomeexcellentcoursesinadvancedtechnologiesandthatitprovidesopportunitiesforthefulldevelopmentofindividualcapacityandoriginality.Ithinkitisoneofthebestplacesformetoundertakemygraduatestudies.Amongthevarioussubareasofnetworkcommunication,Iamespeciallyinterestedinthefollowing;(1)NetworkCommunication,(2)DistributeComputing,and(3)ComputerArchitecture.Anyofyoursuggestionsaboutmyspecialtyorientationwillbehighlyappreciated.
